Diazolidinyl urea is popularly used in cosmetics as an antimicrobial preservative and a formaldehyde releaser. It is a water-soluble preservative that’s colorless, odorless, and stable. Diazolidinyl urea is related to imidazolidinyl urea but has broader antimicrobial properties.

Extraction Method: Diazolidinyl urea is produced by the chemical reaction of allantoin and formaldehyde in the presence of sodium hydroxide solution and heat. The reaction mixture is then neutralized with hydrochloric acid and evaporated
